Opinion vs. Truth
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Sometimes, we hold so violently and stubbornly to our own opinions that we fail to see the truth. Most ancient cultures had conceptions of a flat earth which we now know to be untrue. They were limited in life to their opinions and imaginations. We must open ourselves to the truth!
Contrary to popular opinion, "good" people will not make it to heaven based on the merit of their own good works. All faiths do not lead to heaven. The Bible does say in Revelations 7:9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. So, there will be people of all nationalities and cultures in heaven. However, they must have repented of their sins and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior for He alone is the way, the TRUTH, and the life.

Who Do We Think We Are????
Sometimes, I think we just need to be "put in our place". In talking with people about the Lord, Jesus, our sin and our need for salvation, we often hear things like "God and I have an understanding" or "I don't feel like God will hold that against me". Also sometimes said is "The Bible is just man's interpretation of God's word".
My question to those responses is "Who do we think we are"???? This world has been around for at least 6000 years and Moses started recording God's word about 4600 years ago. With a life expectancy of around 80 years according to Wikipedia, how do we have the gall to argue with that? What makes us think that we are so special that God Almighty would bend His Holy Word just for us?
Most adored of His creation, why do we continue to reject Him and His provision of eternal life by choosing our sin over salvation? What have we to be so prideful of that we refuse to bow to the King of the universe? We spend our short lives fulfilling our worldly lusts only to, one day, stand before the throne of the One who lovingly formed us in our mother's womb, the One who fashioned us after Himself in hopes that we would love and worship Him.
It is appointed unto man once to die, and then the judgment. I'm 32 years old, I'll most likely die in the next 50-60 years, if not before then. I'm so glad I have the blessed hope of Jesus Christ. I would much rather spend the short time I have left in submission to Him than striving to get my own way, which will prove to be no good in the end, anyways. Romans 14:11-12 "For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

Cowboy Card Game
Dusty created a cowboy card game last night. It's called Around the Fire. The board is set up to look like a campfire. The rules of the game are just like Go fish except instead of saying "Go fish", you say "Stoke the fire" when someone asks you for a card you don't have and they draw the card from the "fire" in the middle. Pretty creative!!!!

Thomas Household Update
Well, alot has happened since the last time I was here! I apologize for my lack of devotion to this blog. I do desire to use every resource available to me in order to benefit my own family as well as others in whatever way God chooses to use! That being said, I have neglected my blog in favor of the quicker, easier Facebook :o) So, here's a quick update from the Thomas household!
Today is my and my husband's 13th anniversary!!!! YAY! God has really blessed us with each other and I'm so thankful that, through it all, He was there to draw us closer together and closer to Himself!
I am so proud of my husband! Shortly after the Lord saved him four years ago, He called him to minister the gospel through song! God has opened doors that we never dreamed possible in our ministry! Bucky has signed an exclusive recording contract with Homeland Entertainment and will be working on his second CD project this summer! His CD will include songs written by Glenn Tubb and Hank Williams, as well as original songs written by ourselves and others. So, although it seems as though our lives have gotten more complicated since I started this blog "Seeking Simplicity", I believe that we can still obtain that sweet, simple way of life that we desire! Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart!
